The Leinster Star Awards will be in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow on Saturday the 5th of January 2013.

Furthermore, I wish to advise that at our recent Athletics Leinster meeting, it was agreed that the following new points system would come in to place, so as to give allowance for the standard / level of competition in each Category:
1)     3+ Competitors: Juvenile & Senior Athletes: 6-4-2, Junior Athletes 3-2-1 & Master Athletes 1.5-1.0-0.5.
2)     2 Competitors: Juvenile & Senior Athletes: 4-2, Junior Athletes 2-1 & Master Athletes 1.0-0.5.
3)     1 Competitor: Juvenile & Senior Athletes: 2, Junior Athletes 1 & Master Athletes 0.5.
In addition, it was also agreed that all Championship Bests get an extra point.

Awards will be presented to the best Juvenile Female, best Juvenile Male & best Senior athlete in each of the 11 Counties, while there will also be a separate Outstanding, Throwers & Walkers Award presented.

Additionally, as part of this year's Leinster Star Awards, Kildare, Westmeath, Wexford & Wicklow are asked to please nominate one County Member for a Special Award for Outstanding Service to Athletics. I would be grateful if you could please furnish me with your County's nominee, giving details of their contribution to athletics.
